Review by Rafiat.

The second [book] about Sophie and Robin is even better than the first. Robin better known as Murphy gets to tell his view, which makes the novel even more enjoyable. Robin narrates his hardships as the school outlaw and his experiences as a sit in art student at Harvard. The book’s written like poetry which makes it even more enjoyable.

Fruits Basket, Vol. 1, by Natsuki Takaya July 18, 2007

 review by Jessica.

Fruits Basket is a manga romance/comedy book. I am newer to manga, but of the manga series that I have read, Fruits Basket is a better series. A girl lost her mother, the only family she truly had. Then she ends up living in a tent! She soon meets people around her and lives with them, but they have a secret. When she finds out will she be sent away? Read to find out! I recommend this to manga lovers and people who are interested in the Chinese Zodiacs!

Great review, Jessica.

Review by Jacqueline.

A girl named Mira is sold for wood, she is to work as an apprentice for a witch named Zerba. Mira meets Zerba’s other apprentice Amanda. After having a comfortable conversation the two girls decide to become sisters. Like an older sister, Amanda teaches Mira how to use magic for personal gain (such as beauty), and how to get magic.

Years pass and Zerba dies leaving the hut to Amanda and Mira in a magical way. Mira is turned into a mirror because Amanda wanted Mira to be by her side forever. Now Mira calls her sister Queen. She calls her this because she has gone on a journey to find her king to become her queen…

What happens next? You’ll have to read the book to find out! Thanks for the review, Jacqueline!

Murdered, My Sweet by Joan Lowery Nixon July 2, 2007

Filed under: teenreviews — fpplteens @ 3:24 pm

Review by Patty.

This book Murdered, My Sweet written by Joan Lowery Nixon receives my rating of 5 stars. It is about a girl Jenny whose mom is a mystery/murder writer and how they both go to see their millionaire cousin to see his will publicly read before he dies. Before the reading, his son is murdered and Jenny’s mom decides she will try to solve it, even though she has no real experience. With her mom’s reputation on the line, Jenny works the case behind the scenes to make her mom seem like a woman who knows everything. [She also has to deal with] another murderer after her, and a cute boy that she likes who seems to uncover her secret. I love this book. It shows a strong girl who is brave and bold behind the scenes, [a] girl who is not only in danger, but in love.

Great review, Patty! Check this book out from the Forest Park Public Library today!
